SYNOPIS
It is adapted from Jackie Chan's film "Qi Ji".

At the beginning of 20 century, the proprietor of Lin Ji grain shop in Shanghai, Lin Weicheng, has great family property and a lot of wives and concubines. But he is not satisfied, he takes a dramatic artist called Fu Rong as concubine.

Fu Rong bears her previous lover Zhang Jie in mind constantly. Two of them go on trysts secretly. Finally, the thing comes to the light until Fu Rong gave birth to a child(boy). Lin Weicheng is extremely angry and he forces Fu Rong to commit suicide by hanging. Zhang Jie is hit harshly and became a cripple. Moreover, he is thrown in to the river. Their one-year old child is thrown to a desolate place. Lin Weicheng wants to use the baby to feed wild dogs.

Luckily, the child is found by a wheeler called Jia Liu. At the same time, fortuitously Ms Zhao just gave birth to a child(girl). Jia Liu entrusts Ms Zhao with the little boy and gives the names of these to children, Meimeng(Huang Yi roles) and Chengzhen(Peter roles).

After 20 years, Meimeng and Chengzhen get known with Lin Weicheng's son Lin Zilong and daughter Lin Zifeng, and become good friends. Chengzhen and Zilong work for a famous man called Jin Hu first. Jin Hu's daughter, Cai Xia, who has modern consciousness becomes the person of Zilong's heart, but she loves Chengzhen deeply.

Zhang Jie has become a rich business man in Hong Kong. He comes to Shanghai to do some investments. Chengzhen introduces Zilong to him. Zhang Jie realizes that Zilong's father was his personal enemy in those days. Now, he is still his personal enemy. Zhang Jie makes inquiries about Chengzhen's antecedent life experience and background, and make sure that Chengzhen is his own son. Then Zhang Jie decides to exploit those young dependents' complicated relationship of affections to achieve the purpose of revenge.
